Building toppled

Scott County Public Works employees needed little time last Friday to raze the former library administration building located adjacent to the old courthouse annex on Fifth Avenue. The building was constructed as a single-car garage and has more recently housed the construction manager for the building of the Justice Center and renovations to the Government Center. The cost of the demolition was approximately $9,000, not including staff time. The space the 1,100-square-foot building occupied will be used for additional parking on the south side of the Government Center.
