Signs of the progress of the electric lighting plant are on every hand. Mr. Sly had three crews at work doing inside wiring yesterday. H. H. Strunk & Sons’ drug store has been wired for eighteen lights, and Dr. H. O. Smith’s residence has been wired throughout with concealed wiring. W. J. Kauth’s hotel, the St. Paul house, is also being wired for the lights. Meanwhile the orders are coming in thick and fast enough to keep the men at work steadily.

Kopisca Oil Company Installs Two More Pumps
The progress being made by the Kopisca Oil Co. since that firm started in business in this city less than five months ago, is watched with interest in the business circles of our town.
The latter part of last May, John A. Kopisca and C. Russell Hickman organized the Kopisca Oil Co. and opened an oil station on East Fourth Street. Through aggressiveness and good business intuition, they have expanded their business until they already have installed seven pumps in this city and have contracted to install two more pumps at the Shakopee Motor Inn garage. Their advertisement, which appears on page 4 of this issue, gives in detail the location of their pumps and stations.

Local Ladies To Attend TV Show
Shakopee will be featured on a television show Monday, October 15 when 90 ladies from this vicinity attend the “Fun for Your Money” show at a Minneapolis studio. Several members of the group will be chosen to appear on the show.
The women will leave from the High School at 8:45 Monday morning. They will be guests at luncheon at the Covered Wagon, and will also attend a second program.

City gets option to nursing homes
Area residents determined to find personalized care for family members suffering from Alzheimer’s disease or other memory loss disorders now have an option to nursing homes.
Touted as a “memory care” residence with a homelike atmosphere, Emerald Crest of Shakopee will open this month on the west end of 10th Avenue, not far from the Shakopee Town Square. The first of three “homes” is set to open its doors at the end of October, with the second facility opening in late November and a third assisted-living site welcoming more physically frail residents next May…
