The poles for the electric plant have arrived and a crew of men is digging the holes and setting up the poles. There will be 32 arc lights and these will be suspended in the center of the streets and distributed as follows: On Bluff street at the corner of Minnesota; on First street at the corners of Prairie, Market, Fillmore, Sommerville, Lewis, Holmes, Fuller, Scott and Shumway; on Second street at the corners of Minnesota Main, Spencer, Lewis, Fuller and Scott; on Third street at the corner of Market, Fillmore, Sommerville, Holmes, Atwood, Apgar and Pierce; on Fourth street, at the corners of Minnesota, Spencer, Lewis, Holmes, and Atwood; on Fifth street at the corners of Lewis, Fuller, Scott and Shumway.

Housing added to business park plans

A proposed change in the Valley Green Corporate Center planning seems to have won some favor with nearby residents as well as the Shakopee City Council.

With the assistance of a city-paid consultant, the proposal to develop a corporate business park on approximately 300 acres at the northeast corner of the intersection of county roads 18 and 83 has seen the inclusion of a medium-density residential component. The 280 units of townhouse-style housing being proposed for the south-central portion of the business park could help shield the park from Dean Lake and nearby residents. The proposal reduces the square footage of office-warehouse space from approximately 3 million to about 2.25 million…
